I was standing at the top of the rock preparing to jump. It was a 20 foot fall to the river. This reminded me of the
first Spiderman movie when Spiderman was preparing to swing on his
webbing for the first time.
Spiderman had just recently discovered his
powers much like I had recently decided to jump from the ledge. His jump would be far more
impressive than mine. He shot a line of web to an opposing building.
I stepped closer to the end of the ledge.
Spiderman tugged on the rope to test its
strength. Trusting the rope he leaped up onto the building's ledge. Now there was nothing between him and a five story fall to the ground.
I stepped closer still the edge of the cliff. I leaned over to get a good look at the fall. It was nothing short of what I expected. I bent my knees and arched my back preparing to jump
Spiderman stood on the edge for several seconds deciding whether or not to jump. Without any practice on smaller jumps he took a leap of faith off the building and crashed directly into a billboard. This bold
way of life would help him in
fights with future
enemies.
Taking what felt like an equal leap of faith I stepped off the cliff and plunged into the river. To my relief my jump was a success and I was alright.
